The Ohio State University College of Medicine is one of five universities across the US Meta is supporting for research. Support includes access to the latest AI models and technologies from Meta, direct collaboration with Meta researchers, and research funding for select projects. The Ohio State University College of Medicine’s research initiatives span three critical research domains, pairing several of the latest models from Meta with the university's clinical, radiology, and biomedical informatics expertise.

Dublin, OH based OCLC is seeking an Associate Research Scientist to join their Research Insights team. This position will work alongside two senior research scientists and two data and software engineering professionals, contributing to projects that help libraries navigate technology transformation, changing institutional and organizational landscapes, and support research, teaching, and learning.

The collaboration is one of the largest partnerships between Google Public Sector and any U.S. university, uniting Ohio State’s preeminent research and academic programs with Google Cloud’s full AI-optimized tech stack and high-performance computing power. This initiative establishes an on-campus AI space in Ohio State’s Innovation District, including Google DeepMind collaborations, provides Gemini Enterprise and Gemini Notebook access campuswide through Google for Education, and launches an exclusive student research ambassador program.

CAS is currently seeking a part-time PhD in AI Research for Science. This is a 6-month placement at the headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. This part-time position is designed for PhD students in the chemical, biological, biomedical, physical, and materials sciences, with a strong interest in applying AI methods to solve challenging scientific problems. The position will contribute to innovation and discovery efforts aligned with the CAS product portfolio and their own area of scientific expertise to advance AI for science, working under the mentorship of a CAS technical expert who provides regular feedback and guidance. Registration is now open for the NLM SPARK Challenges! The National Library of Medicine is awarding $500,000 in prizes for AI-powered solutions that unlock new insights across PubMed/PMC® and dbGaP, the world’s largest biomedical literature and genomic data resources. Code solution submissions will be accepted starting Jan. 15, and results will be due by Jan. 31, 2027. Four competition tracks are available; details and instructions are now available.

The Energy Research Data Hub is a data lake containing over six years of granular, standardized campus energy and weather data. ERIK is offering seed funding for an academic project that uses this data to generate new knowledge and insights. Competitive proposals, for up to $25,000 in funding, can be across a wide range of topics that treat the Hub itself as an object of study. The RFP will be released on September 28. In the State of the University address, President Bellamkonda announced Ohio State’s partnership with Google Public Sector to establish a space in the Innovation District of the university. This will be one of the first Google spaces on any university campus and enhance Ohio State’s AI Fluency initiative.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) are seeking innovative artificial intelligence approaches to help identify biological threats in complex environmental data. This Challenge invites eligible U.S. innovators, companies, academics, laboratories, and other technology developers to submit algorithmic approaches that can rapidly detect potential biological threat signals, distinguish them from benign environmental background, and provide explainable, confidence-scored results to support follow-on analysis and response.
